Formerly Fleet Feet Sports San Anselmo, we've gone fully independent to better serve the Bay Area's best trail running region, Marin County!

Situated in picturesque and stroll-worthy downtown San Anselmo, we provide athletic shoes, apparel and gear for a variety of sports: running, walking, yoga, crossfit, swimming, gym fitness, and more.

We're open 7 days a week, and are always available to chat about the best trails to run and hike, dispense training advice, or discuss Dipsea Handicaps.

The Perfect Fit
Unlike big shoe barns, our staff’s first priority is to find your perfect fit in shoes and apparel, whether you are a runner, walker, swimmer or yoga devotee. Our staff is fully trained to analyze your gait and assess your exercise habits, past injuries and more to find your optimal fitting shoe. We also sell apparel—many using organic, “green” materials—that fits like a dream, and that keeps you warm in the winter (and the San Francisco summer) and cool in the summer.

Locally Owned, Locally Minded
Marin Running Company is locally-owned and operated by Charles Yoakum, who grew up in Marin, ran track for Drake High School, and knows Mt. Tam’s trails like the back of his feet. An avid runner and exercise enthusiast, Charles is a track-and-field fan and has read nearly every book on how to train optimally. He was on Sac State’s crew team, bicycled competitively in college, finished several triathlons, and has run multiple marathons—including the San Francisco (three times), New York (three times), Chicago and Boston Marathons.

Supporting Our Community
We're proud to be an official partner of Adidas to sponsor and support Tamalpa Runners, Marin's largest running club. (Here are some pictures of the great new Tamalpa training gear for sale at the shop.) We're also proud partners with the Dixie Children's Fund, supporting the local Dixie School District. We are members of the San Anselmo Chamber, and the Downtown San Anselmo Merchant’s Association.
